Basketball Game Preview: Bergtraum Blazers vs. Rustin

After both having extra time off, the Bergtraum Blazers and Rustin will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bergtraum has five straight victories, Rustin has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Two weeks ago, Bergtraum got the win against West 50th Street by a conclusive 85-64. Given the Blazers' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Seahawks are ranked 393rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Rustin might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Stuyvesant an easy 72-50 win.

Bergtraum's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 94.0 points per game. As for Rustin, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Everything went Bergtraum's way against Rustin in their previous meeting back in January, as Bergtraum made off with a 78-54 win. Will Bergtraum repeat their success, or does Rustin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
