Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Montesano's Ninth in Last 11 Outings

Montesano won against Hoquiam last Thursday with 58 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Montesano Bulldogs secured a 58-52 W over the Rochester Warriors. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 54-35 back in January.

Rochester's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kole Smith, who posted 19 points. Those 19 points gave Smith a new career-high. Brayden Oconnor was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Montesano is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Rochester, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-17.

Montesano didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-41 loss against Aberdeen on the 31st. Rochester has also already played their next contest, a 53-32 defeat against Tenino on the 30th.
