Baseball Recap: Rochester Beats Manchester for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Rochester proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 11) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Manchester Squires a 2-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Zebras also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Manchester's batters probably weren't too happy with Carson Paulik, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (he gave up two walks). Paulik has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

The win (which was Rochester's fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Manchester, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-6.

Coming up, Rochester will be playing at home against Carroll at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Manchester, they are taking a road trip to take on Eastern at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Comets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Squires' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
