Friday, 7 p.m. Eastern time

Why it's big: The top two passers in the Greater Catholic League South go head-to-head Friday night in the 14th renewal of this rivalry in the last 12 seasons.

Senior Peyton Ramsey – son of Elder coach Doug Ramsey – has completed 67 percent of his passes for 1,095 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. The Indiana recruit has also run for over 500 yards. He leads the Panthers into their first league game of the season with a 4-1 record. Elder sat atop the state Division I rankings before losing to St. Edward (Lakewood) two weeks ago.

Junior Sean Clifford (Penn State) has thrown for 740 yards and eight touchdowns to lead St. Xavier (4-1).

Names to watch: Ja'Vahri Portis is emerging as one of the top senior running backs in Ohio. Portis ran for a career-high 195 yards with two touchdowns in Elder's 56-39 win over Centerville last week.

St. Xavier's J.P. Bitzenhofer leads the GCLS in tackles so far this season. The senior safety has committed to play college baseball at Kentucky.
