Basketball Game Preview: Osborne Bulldogs vs. Quinter Bulldogs

We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a seven-game winning streak alive.

Osborne is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They took down LaCrosse 50-36.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Quinter's strategy against Greeley County on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Quinter blew Greeley County out of the water with a 54-24 final score. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Quinter found their leader in freshman Braelyn Blackwill, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 13 boards. Blackwill is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Bryn Gillespie, who posted 13 points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Quinter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 14 consecutive contests.

Quinter pushed their record up to 18-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.9 points over those games. As for Osborne, their victory bumped their record up to 16-5.

Osborne didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Quinter in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 61-55 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Osborne since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
