Softball Recap: Niskayuna Comes Up Short

Niskayuna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 11-1 to the Averill Park Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Silver Warriors of the 10-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Niskayuna saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabel Neugebauer, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double was Neugebauer's first of the season.

Niskayuna's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Averill Park, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Niskayuna will take on rival Albany at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Averill Park is set to square off against their familiar foe Colonie Central at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Wolfpack an eight-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
