Softball Recap: Burges Takes a Loss

Burges was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 11-0 to the Socorro Bulldogs. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in February of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Burges saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yoselin Chavira, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Burges' loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Socorro, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 17-0.

Coming up, Burges will welcome Ysleta at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ysleta has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something Burges will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Socorro, they are taking a road trip to square off against Americas at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Socorro knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Americas likes a good challenge.
