Football Recap: Johnson-Brock Falls to Sandy Creek in First Game of Season

Johnson-Brock unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Sandy Creek Cougars on Friday, falling 56-26. The Eagles were down 44-18 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

When it comes to explaining why Johnson-Brock lost, don't look at Wyatt Fulton. Despite the final result, he threw for 101 yards and three touchdowns.

Sandy Creek found their leader in sophomore Kam Sealey, who rushed for 191 yards and four TDs while picking up 10.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 191 yards and one touchdown on only 16 passes. Alex Watts was Sealey's top target, picking up 54 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 51 yards and one TD.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johnson-Brock is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Exeter-Milligan/Friend at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sandy Creek, they will head out to square off against Shelby-Rising City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
