Softball Recap: Bellaire Comes Up Short

Bellaire was the 8-1 winner over Barnesville when they last played one another back in April of 2015, but their luck changed this time around. The Big Reds fell 9-6 to the Shamrocks on Wednesday. The contest marked the Big Reds' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Bellaire saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Kovach, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Kovach is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Bellaire's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Barnesville, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Coming up, Barnesville will face off against Union Local at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bellaire will be paying especially close attention to the Shamrocks' matchup: after the Shamrocks faces off against the Jets, they'll take on Bellaire again at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
