Basketball Recap: Montcalm Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Montcalm can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Tug Valley Panthers and fell 67-36. While losing is never fun, the Generals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Panthers are ranked 12th).

The defeat snapped Montcalm's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 17-7 record. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.2 points over those games. As for Tug Valley, the victory was the 19th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-2.

As of now, neither Montcalm nor Tug Valley have any future games scheduled.
