Softball Recap: Lake Comes Up Short

Lake was the 4-1 winner over West Lauderdale when they last played one another back in April of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Hornets took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights on Friday.

Lake saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amaure'I Jones, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for West Lauderdale, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.

Coincidentally, Lake and West Lauderdale will both be playing Choctaw County the next time they take the field. The Knights will host the Chargers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Hornets will play them later in the day, at 12:15 p.m.
