Basketball Recap: South Callaway Extends Winning Streak to Five

South Callaway came tearing into Monday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points), and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the New Bloomfield Wildcats with points to spare, taking the game 70-52. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 66-60 win last Friday.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trenton Boessen, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Boessen a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Massman, who posted six points in addition to six boards and three blocks.

South Callaway now has a winning record of 13-12. As for New Bloomfield, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-19.

South Callaway does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Bloomfield, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats face off against the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
