Soccer Game Preview: WISH Academy vs. Animo Venice

WISH Academy and Animo Venice are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2020, but likely not for long. The WISH Academy Owls will square off against the Animo Venice Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. WISH Academy's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

WISH Academy fell victim to Alliance Bloomfield and their airtight defense back in December of 2024. They came up short against the Bulls, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Animo Venice). Their defense stepped up to hand New Designs Watts an 11-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Pirates have won four games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

WISH Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3-1. As for Animo Venice, their win bumped their record up to 4-2-2.

WISH Academy beat Animo Venice 4-2 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Will WISH Academy repeat their success, or does Animo Venice have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
