Baseball Game Preview: Twin Valley Raiders vs. Kutztown Cougars

The Twin Valley Raiders will take on the Kutztown Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Twin Valley is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

Twin Valley's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. Everything went their way against Conrad Weiser as they made off with a 6-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Ben Vaughan's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Twin Valley's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Logan Crunk, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run. Kooper Zdimal was another, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Kutztown was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They fell just short of Blue Mountain by a score of 2-1. The Cougars' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Twin Valley's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Kutztown, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.
