Softball Game Preview: Salamanca Warriors vs. Olean Huskies

Salamanca hasn't had much luck against Olean recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Warriors will welcome the Huskies at 5:00 p.m.

Salamanca is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Southwestern.

Meanwhile, Olean got themselves on the board against Jamestown on Friday, but Jamestown never followed suit. They blew past the Red & Green 6-0. Considering the Huskies have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Emma Edwards made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, Riley Sudbrook was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases and three runs. Alaina Hirliman also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Salamanca's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Olean, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
