Soccer Game Preview: Estero vs. Canterbury

Estero is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Canterbury is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Estero duke it out with the Canterbury at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Estero's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Barron Collier with a sharp 4-0 win. Give the Wildcats' defense some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

They hit Barron Collier with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kaitlyn Mancini (2), Payton Carnes, and Gabi Jewell.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Canterbury made sure to put some goals up on the board against Gateway on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Eagles as they made off with a 7-2 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 3-0.

Estero's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Canterbury, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.

Estero took their win against Canterbury in their previous matchup back in January of 2020 by a conclusive 7-1. Will Estero repeat their success, or does Canterbury have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
