Softball Game Preview: Seneca Valley Raiders vs. Norwin Knights

The Seneca Valley Raiders will challenge the Norwin Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Seneca Valley will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Seneca Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over Woodland Hills on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Raiders with their most commanding win of the season.

Abby Kalkowski made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Kalkowski was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maci Milosicevic, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Liv Herrem was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Seneca Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .680. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Norwin had just enough and edged out Butler 4-2 on Thursday.

Seneca Valley's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Norwin, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Seneca Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Norwin in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Will Seneca Valley repeat their success, or does Norwin has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
