Baseball Recap: Upper Scioto Valley Rams vs. Jackson Center Tigers

Upper Scioto Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell just short of the Jackson Center Tigers by a score of 4-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Upper Scioto Valley of the 12-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2021.

Mason Thompson was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Thompson was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with a stolen base, a double, and an RBI.

Upper Scioto Valley now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Jackson Center, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-13.

Upper Scioto Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Waynesfield-Goshen at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Waynesfield-Goshen and Upper Scioto Valley are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Jackson Center, they will head out on the road to square off against Bradford at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bradford is coming into the matchup with six straight wins at home, so Jackson Center will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
