Baseball Game Preview: Keefe Tech Broncos vs. Montachusett RVT Bulldogs

Keefe Tech and Montachusett RVT are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Broncos will head out to take on the Bulldogs at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Keefe Tech will be strutting in after a victory while Montachusett RVT will be coming in after a defeat.

Keefe Tech took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They came out on top against Lynn Vo-Tech by a score of 6-3.

Joey Secatore made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Secatore was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base. Secatore is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaxon Fertel, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Chris Anastos also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Montachusett RVT was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Blackstone Valley RVT, falling 8-1.

Keefe Tech's record now sits at 2-4. As for Montachusett RVT, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Keefe Tech might still be hurting after the 9-0 loss they got from Montachusett RVT in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Broncos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
