Softball Recap: Archbishop McNicholas Takes a Loss

Archbishop McNicholas fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Notre Dame Academy on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pandas. The Rockets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Natalie Jones spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Archbishop McNicholas saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Megan Richardson, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Richardson brought in this season.

Archbishop McNicholas' loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Notre Dame Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Coming up, Archbishop McNicholas will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Fenwick at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Notre Dame Academy, they will take on Grant County at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
