Soccer Game Preview: Mount Vernon vs. Mt. Baker

The Mount Vernon Bulldogs will challenge the Mt. Baker Mountaineers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Mount Vernon is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Bellingham just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Tuesday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw. The result kept Mount Vernon happy, as they haven't lost a game since March 29th.

Meanwhile, Mt. Baker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Lakewood.

With that draw, Mount Vernon's record moves to 9-2-3. As for Mt. Baker, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-14.
