Soccer Preview: Joliet Central vs. Minooka
Joliet Central hasn't had much luck against Minooka recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Steelmen will look to defend their home pitch against the Indians at 5:00 p.m. Joliet Central has given up an average of 3.4 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Joliet Central came up short against Plainfield South on Thursday, falling 6-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Joliet Central were already down 5-0.
Their goal came courtesy of Juli Calderon, who's now up to seven this season.
Meanwhile, Minooka's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lincoln-Way Central. The loss was Minooka's first of the season.
Having lost for the first time this season, Minooka fell to 3-1-1. As for Joliet Central, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Joliet Central might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Minooka in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Steelmen were down 11-1.
