Point Pleasant Beach and Keyport/Hudson Regional are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2017, but not for long. The Garnet Gulls will face off against the Raiders at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Point Pleasant Beach put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They managed a 41-36 victory over Monmouth Regional. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Garnet Gulls.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Point Pleasant Beach to victory, but perhaps none more so than Matthew Rossi, who threw for 233 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt. The Garnet Gulls also got help from Elijah Ives, who showed off his sure hands for 142 receiving yards.
Point Pleasant Beach didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Danny Cavanaugh.
Meanwhile, Keyport/Hudson Regional really took it to Keansburg for the full four quarters, racking up a 51-20 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-20.
Keyport/Hudson Regional's win came from a few key players Point Pleasant Beach will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jermaine Bardon, who rushed for 87 yards and one score on only six carries, and also picked up 36 receiving yards and one touchdown. His longest rush was for an impressive 62 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Marshall Colangelo was another key passer, throwing for 57 yards and a pair of TDs.
Keyport/Hudson Regional was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 219 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.
Point Pleasant Beach's record now sits at 3-1. As for Keyport/Hudson Regional, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Point Pleasant Beach was able to grind out a solid win over Keyport/Hudson Regional in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 21-14. Will the Garnet Gulls repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
