Baseball Recap: Gilmer Takes a Loss

Gilmer fell victim to Carthage and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 13-0. The Buckeyes haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Gilmer's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Carthage, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-9-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gilmer will venture away from home to face off against Cumberland Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gilmer is facing Cumberland Academy at the right time seeing as Cumberland Academy is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Carthage, they will face off against Spring Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Spring Hill's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Carthage's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
