Softball Recap: Foothill Triumphs

Foothill won the last time they faced Castro Valley and things went their way on Friday too. The Foothill Falcons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Castro Valley Trojans. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Myra Galzie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on eight hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kaycie Burdick, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Ellie Novitske was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base.

Foothill's record is now 2-0. As for Castro Valley, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foothill will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Clayton Valley Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Castro Valley, they will take on Monte Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
