Volleyball Game Preview: West Valley Mustangs vs. Temescal Canyon Titans

The West Valley Mustangs will face off against the Temescal Canyon Titans at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

West Valley managed to slip by San Jacinto the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Tigers on Wednesday.

West Valley took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-19, 25-23.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Carlvin Valdez, who had 21 assists and seven digs. He is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 16 or more in each of the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nile Ledda, who had 17 digs.

Meanwhile, Temescal Canyon entered their tilt with Tahquitz on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Tahquitz.

Temescal Canyon walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-18, 25-19, 25-4.

Temescal Canyon's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7. As for West Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
