Volleyball Recap: Bloom Takes a Loss

Bloom lost against Thornwood back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Blazing Trojan fell just short of the Thunderbirds by a score of 2-1. While the Blazing Trojan didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Thunderbirds 25-21 in the first set.

Bloom started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-17, 25-22.

Bloom has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for Thornwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-13 record this season.

Bloom will face off against Chicago Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Thornwood, after both having extra time off, they and Rich Township will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
