Baseball Recap: Kent School Lions vs. Choate Rosemary Hall School Wild Boars
Kent School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell victim to a rough 6-0 defeat at the hands of the Choate Rosemary Hall School Wild Boars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Kent School of the 7-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.
For Choate Rosemary Hall School's part, not much got past Shaun Flannery, who gave up just two hits to keep Kent School off the board.
At the plate, Gianni Vora was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Max Zhu was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-5.
Kent School's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Choate Rosemary Hall School, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Kent School will head out on the road to take on Trinity-Pawling School at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The last four games Trinity-Pawling School has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Choate Rosemary Hall School, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Westminster School at 4:30 p.m.
