Baseball Game Preview: Robinson Maroons vs. Carmi-White County Bulldogs

The Robinson Maroons will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Carmi-White County Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Carmi-White County took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Robinson, who comes in off a win.

Robinson is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Dieterich. Robinson walked away with an 8-5 win over Dieterich on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Maroons as it put an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.

The team relied heavily on AJ Knoblett, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Reese Johnson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Carmi-White County was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They lost 21-2 to Carterville. The loss was the Bulldogs' first of the season.

Robinson might still be hurting after the 12-1 loss they got from Carmi-White County when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Robinson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
