Basketball Game Preview: Enloe Eagles vs. Athens Drive Jaguars

The Enloe Eagles will take on the Athens Drive Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Enloe is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Enloe came up short against Southeast Raleigh and fell 50-38. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 410th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 150th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Malone Bridgers, who posted two points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in boards. John Brown was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Athens Drive also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Sanderson by a score of 51-38. The Jaguars haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Enloe's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Athens Drive, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Enloe strolled past Athens Drive in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 64-48. Does Enloe have another victory up their sleeve, or will Athens Drive turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
