Basketball Game Preview: Dalton Catamounts vs. Midtown Knights

The Dalton Catamounts will square off against the Midtown Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Dalton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 61-26 victory over Westminster. Winning may never get old, but the Catamounts sure are getting used to it with their 16th in a row.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Midtown, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They breezed past Northside to the tune of 71-41 on Tuesday. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Patriots are ranked 259th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Midtown is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season. As for Dalton, their win bumped their record up to 25-3.

Dalton came up short against Midtown in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 73-63. Can Dalton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
