Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Anna-Jonesboro

Anna-Jonesboro extended their winning streak to four on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 9-10 in the process. They came out on top against the Massac County Patriots by a score of 6-1. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 1-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Lucas Salazar made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over 6.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Anna-Jonesboro is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 6-9 otherwise. Salazar was also big at the plate, earning two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Noah Chotner was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Luke Vaughn was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

As for Massac County, they dropped their record down to 13-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. The contest marked their lowest-scoring match so far this season.

On Massac County's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Jeffords, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
