Volleyball Recap: Riverbend Academy Takes a Loss

Riverbend Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Altamonte Christian Eagles, falling 3-0. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Eagles when the teams met back in October of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Altamonte Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Valeria Marte, who had 19 kills and two aces. Marte is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least seven every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Hoberg, who had 24 assists and two aces.

Riverbend Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Altamonte Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-15.

Riverbend Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against First Baptist Christian Academy on the 7th. As for Altamonte Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Legacy Charter on the 7th.
