Football Recap: Anthony Gay III Key Part of Team Effort in Seminoles Win

There's no place like home for Seminole, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They were the clear victors by a 43-21 margin over the Lake Brantley Patriots on Friday. The Seminoles pushed the score to 40-14 by the end of the third, a deficit the Patriots cut but never quite recovered from.

Seminole's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Gay III, who picked up 120 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one TD on the ground. The Seminoles also got a significant boost from Kemahri Freeman, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 105 yards.

Seminole was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 305 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Seminole didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Milton Roebuck, Robert Hampton Jr., and Kamoi Stevenson picked up one apiece. Roebuck also made six total tackles, which is notable because Seminole is 2-1 when he posts at least four total tackles, but 1-2 otherwise. Terrence Thompson Jr was another major factor on D, picking up two sacks and making six total tackles (5.0 for loss).

Lake Brantley lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jackson Stecher, who threw for 200 yards and a pair of TDs. Lake Brantley's leading receiver Jacob McDonald was Stecher's top target yet again, picking up 71 receiving yards and one score.

The victory got Seminole back to even at 3-3. As for Lake Brantley, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Seminole will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lake Mary at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 936 yards in their previous games. As for Lake Brantley, they have already played their next game, a 43-7 victory against Tohopekaliga on the 3rd.
