Soccer Game Preview: Muskogee vs. Bixby

The Muskogee Roughers will head out to face off against the Bixby Spartans at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Muskogee has given up an average of 2.6 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Muskogee is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals on Saturday, they were much more limited against Bartlesville on Tuesday. They came up short against the Bruins, falling 6-0. Muskogee haven't had much luck with Bartlesville recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Meanwhile, Bixby came tearing into Tuesday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.3 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Broncos. That's two games straight that Bixby have won by just one goal.

Bixby's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Muskogee, they now have a losing record of 5-6-1.

Muskogee couldn't quite get it done against Bixby in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 as they fell 3-1. Can the Roughers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
