Softball Recap: Freedom Beats Hibriten for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Freedom extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 10-15 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Hibriten Panthers. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Panthers on April 4th, they had to take a 9-6 defeat.

Daniell Robinson was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed 6.2 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Robinson was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Englani Campbell and Rhiley Buchanan did most of the damage at the plate: Campbell went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run, while Buchanan went 1-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave Buchanan a new career-high.

As for Hibriten, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. Their loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

On Hibriten's side, Braelynn Price made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Karli Pelfrey, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.

Freedom didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-0 defeat against Alexander Central on the 30th. Hibriten does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
