Softball Recap: Nease Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous seven meetings between Nease and Bartram Trail, and Bartram Trail kept the tradition alive. The Nease Panthers fell 8-3 to the Bartram Trail Bears on Wednesday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Alanna Doherty made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI. Miranda Harmon was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Even though they lost, Nease hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Nease's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Bartram Trail, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Coming up, Nease will challenge Fletcher at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fletcher will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Bartram Trail, they will square off against Santa Fe at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Santa Fe's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Bartram Trail's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
