Softball Recap: Perry County Central Picks Up Tenth Straight Win at Home

Perry County Central had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Breathitt County on Saturday. The Commodores blew past the Bobcats 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Commodores, who have now won 14 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Taylan Hoskins was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. Olivia Robinson was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Perry County Central lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Perry County Central's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-10. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Breathitt County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-15.

Looking ahead, Perry County Central will face off against Estill County at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. The Engineers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Commodores surely won't give up without a fight. Breathitt County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
