Softball Recap: Filer Finds Home Field Redemption Against Jerome

There's no place like home for Filer, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on the Jerome Tigers with a sharp 9-3 win on Friday. The Wildcats not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1st (when they won 19-9).

Ava Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Heidi Winegar was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last seven contests.

Filer's record is now 7-11-1. As for Jerome, they moved to 10-5 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Tigers beat Filer by a score of 16-5 later that day.
