Basketball Recap: Parkland Drops Season-High Score on Hanks

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Parkland). They blew past the Hanks Knights 66-45 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Matadors have posted since November 21, 2024.

Parkland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Keyandrey Cager led the charge by going 5 of 8 on his way to 16 points. Cager continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Allen, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards.

Parkland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 11 consecutive contests.

Parkland's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-18. As for Hanks, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-20 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Del Valle the next time they take the court. Parkland will host Del Valle at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Hanks will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th.
