Football Recap: Tanner Lindsey Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Genoa-Hugo

Hanover hadn't done well against Genoa-Hugo recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Hornets took down the Pirates 38-19. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hornets also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hanover to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tanner Lindsey, who picked up 138 receiving yards and three scores, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Lindsey has become a key player for the Hornets: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns, but 2-4 otherwise. Thomas Griffin Jr. was another key back, rushing for 111 yards and one TD on only 12 carries.

Hanover's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Genoa-Hugo, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Coming up, Hanover will face off against Idalia at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Hornets will need to watch out since the Wolves have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. Genoa-Hugo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
