Preview: Osmond/Randolph Hawks vs. Winside Wildcats
The Osmond/Randolph Hawks's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Winside Wildcats at 7:45 p.m. on January 22nd.
Osmond/Randolph suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard], falling 60-16. Osmond/Randolph was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-10.
Winside posted their closest win yet this season on January 5th. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Hartington-Newcastle and snuck past 37-35.
Winside's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Schutt, who scored 13 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Offner, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and six blocks.
Osmond/Randolph's defeat was their 12th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-9. As for Winside, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.
Everything went Osmond/Randolph's way against Winside in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as Osmond/Randolph made off with a 57-32 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Osmond/Randolph since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
