Coyer sisters reach milestone on same pass; Bryce Alford has another big game.
It probably was coincidence, but it more than likely was simply lifetime radar between twin sisters that was responsible for two major milestones being recorded with one single pass.
Caroline Coyer, a 5-foot-10 point guard, lofted a pass to sister Katherine, who quickly scored to help unbeaten
Oakton (Vienna, Va.) roll to a 54-45 basketball victory over Robinson (Fairfax, Va.).
The assist on Katherine's 1,000th career point enabled Caroline to break a 20-year-old Virginia Class AAA record with 532 career assists. Caroline previously had broken the Oakton school record, which was held by Jasmine Thomas, who now plays for the Washington Mystics of the WNBA.
Following their record-breaking year, the talented twins will head for Villanova University.

Bryce Alford continues to follow in the footsteps of his famous father, current University of New Mexico head basketball coach Steve Alford.
In front of a packed house, the 6-3 junior guard drilled a 25-foot jump shot with 3.5 seconds left to give
La Cueva (Albuquerque, N.M.) a 60-57 victory over Eldorado (Albuquerque, N.M.).
Alford told the Albuquerque Journal, "It's the best part of basketball, late in the game. It's where the money is made. It's my favorite time."
*Another talented junior guard,
Conner Frankamp, poured in 47 points as
North (Wichita, Kan.) edged
East (Wichita, Kan.), 69-66. Despite being heavily guarded, the young sharpshooter drilled seven consecutive 3-point baskets during one stretch en route to his fourth game of 40 or more points during the current season.

Keegan Mulder tied the Iowa state record with 12 3-point baskets as unbeaten
MOC-Floyd Valley (Orange City, Iowa) routed Rock Valley (Iowa), 86-27. He finished with 36 points.

Flower Mound (Texas) defeated Plano West (Plano, Texas), 70-66, to give coach Henry Thomas his 500th victory.
