Recap: Brattleboro Bears vs. Rutland Raiders
The Brattleboro Bears pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The contest between them and Rutland wasn't particularly close, with Brattleboro falling 72-55. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Brattleboro in their matchups with Rutland: they've now lost six in a row.
Brattleboro lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jack Cady, who scored 19 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cady has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnathon Haskins, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Brattleboro's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Rutland, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brattleboro will take on Mt. St. Joseph Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rutland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Burlington at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Rutland's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight contests.
