Football Recap: Bloomington Comes Up Short

Bloomington made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Rialto, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bruins fell just short of the Knights by a score of 33-30 on Friday. The Bruins have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Bloomington still got an impressive performance from Derek Fraembs, who rushed for 170 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, and also caught one TD. Fraembs is becoming a predictor of the Bruins' success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 2-1 (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Dylan Fraembs was another key back, gaining 130 total yards and a touchdown.

Rialto was led to victory by Geonie Seeney and Isaiah Wilson. Seeney rushed for 93 yards on only 11 carries, while Wilson rushed for 60 yards and three scores. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Wilson a new career-high. Alexander Quezada did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 88 receiving yards.

Bloomington's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Rialto, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Bloomington has already played their next game, a 50-18 win against Notre Dame on the 24th. As for Rialto, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 7-6 victory against Carter on the 24th.
