Softball Recap: Goodland Cowboys vs. Scott Beavers

While Goodland's win against Scott wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cowboys sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Beavers on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Cowboys in their matchups with the Beavers: they've now won three in a row.

Allison Cure spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on ten hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Dani Fisher was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alessa Rickard, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Goodland now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Scott, they dropped their record down to 8-5 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.
