Volleyball Recap: Streamwood Sabres vs. West Chicago Wildcats

Streamwood lost against West Chicago back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Sabres fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Streamwood sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 23-25, 25-13.

Alexander Paz paced Streamwood's offense, picking up 14 kills. Paz got some help from John Garcia and his 23 assists. Paz and Garcia didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with two apiece.

West Chicago's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Omar Lutifiyev, who had 12 digs. Thomas Cabrera was another key player, getting 13 assists and four digs.

Streamwood's loss dropped their record down to 19-10. As for West Chicago, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-8.
