Baseball Recap: Carolina Forest Gets the Win

While Carolina Forest's win against Myrtle Beach wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers skirted past the Seahawks 5-4. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Seahawks: they've now won six in a row.

Parker Reavis made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

In other pitching news, Connor Scalzitti looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

Reavis wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brice Urso, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave Urso a new career-high. Another was Gatlin Pasco, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Carolina Forest's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Myrtle Beach, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-11.

Carolina Forest will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Seahawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
