Basketball Recap: Cort Larrew's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Swink over Cheyenne Wells

Swink was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Cheyenne Wells Tigers, falling 49-29. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Tigers are ranked 101st).

Swink's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cort Larrew, who posted six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Paolucci, who earned five points along with five boards and three blocks.

Swink's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Cheyenne Wells, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 16-3.

Swink has already played their next contest, a 75-53 win against Rocky Ford on the 18th. As for Cheyenne Wells, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers duke it out with the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
