Baseball Recap: Miyamura Takes a Loss

Miyamura was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 13-4 to the Piedra Vista Panthers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Xavier Brown was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2. He is becoming a predictor of Miyamura's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 0-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Nikki Torres, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Miyamura's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Piedra Vista, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Piedra Vista beat Miyamura by a score of 13-4 later that day.
